 Q: What are Sisterlocks™?: 

A. Sisterlocks™ is a natural hair management system that allows women with tightly textured hair to take advantage of a wide range of toady's hairstyles without having to alter the natural texture of their hair. 

This system uses your natural hair texture to produce small locks that can be styled the same ways as chemically relaxed or curled hair.  It’s a technique that takes advantage of the natural texture of your hair to create discrete locks and can be created in individuals with all natural hair and/or hair with for women with relaxed hair.

Q: Does this mean that once I get Sisterlocks™, I can still change hairstyles?

Sisterlocks™ are uniform locks created with your own natural hair that allow you to style and manage your hair without extensions, relaxers, gels or waxes.  Sisterlocks is a lot less limiting than extensions because it is your natural hair. They can be styled, curled, wet set, braided or put up in a pony tail - You Name it.  Take advantage of your hairs natural curl or kink and never have another bad hair day!

Q: How long does it take to do?

A: The initial locking session depends upon the length/density and size of locks to be installed and can be installed over a one or a two-day period depending upon those factors. 

The beauty of Sisterlocks™ is that tightening them as your hair grows out is extremely simple, since there are no extensions to remove or reset. 

Q: Will Sisterlocks™ cause my hair to break or thin?

A: Just the opposite! Sisterlocks™ is a gentle technique that requires no chemicals, no excessive tightening, and causes no damaging abrasion to the hair or scalp. You will find that with regular care, your locks will grow. 

Q: Can I get Sisterlocks(tm) if I have relaxed hair?

A: Yes, though the transition will take more time.  You don't have to cut your hair as Sisterlocks can be started with your relaxed length left untouched as long as you have 1 1/2 inches of natural hair at the root.  As your hair grows, and is set into a locked pattern, your relaxed hair will be trimmed away. Your styling options will increase as your natural texture grows out.

Q: Do I need to have 'fine' hair for Sisterlocks™ to work?

A: Not at all! Sisterlocks is an excellent option for all women with a curly/kinky hair.  There are several locking patterns I am trained in which will ensure the right pattern is selected for your hair type thereby taking advantage of its natural curl and texture. 

Q: Can Sisterlocks™ be taken out?

A: Yes, though the procedure is tedious. Once you discover the range of freedom with Sisterlocks™, you won't want to go back!
